Some 200 persons participated in book discussion groups held

during March and April, and nearly 1,000 persons came to the

Orpheum Theatre the weekend of April 22-23 to meet

actress Mary Badham and see the film To Kill a Mockingbird.

Mary Badham, right, who played "Scout" in the film, visited with each person who

came through the line to have a book signed. Sitting with Badham, to the left,

is Margot Chesebro, who led three book discussion groups and is a member

of the One Book One Siouxland planning committee.

Barnes & Noble Booksellers gave a percentage of

sales to the One Book One Siouxland initiative.
